Help & FAQ

Answers to common questions about Make My Drive Fun.

What is Make My Drive Fun?

Make My Drive Fun is an AI-powered road trip planner. Describe your trip in plain language — where you're going, what you like, how much time you have — and the AI will suggest a route packed with interesting stops, scenic detours, and hidden gems along the way.

How does the AI plan my trip?

When you describe a trip, our AI analyzes your preferences, route geometry, and real-world data from multiple sources — including Azure Maps, Google Places, and OpenStreetMap — to find stops that match your interests. It considers driving time, opening hours, ratings, and your travel style to build a balanced itinerary.

You can refine the plan by chatting with the AI, adding or removing stops, or adjusting your preferences at any time.

Is it free?

Yes! The free plan includes 5 trip generations per month, up to 3 saved trips, AI-powered route planning, Google Places photos and ratings, and shareable trip links. No credit card required.

What's included in Pro?

Pro unlocks everything in Free, plus:

  • Unlimited trip generations
  • Unlimited saved trips
  • Draw custom routes directly on the map
  • Collaborative trip editing with up to 5 people
  • Weather-aware planning
  • Priority AI responses

Visit the pricing page for current pricing.

Can I share my trips?

Yes. Every trip has a shareable link. Anyone with the link can view your trip — no account required. You can share it directly from the trip page.

Can I collaborate on trips?

Pro users can invite up to 5 collaborators per trip. Collaborators can be given editor or viewer roles. Editors can add, remove, and reorder stops; viewers can see the trip but not modify it. Invite links are generated from the trip's collaborator settings.

How do I draw a route on the map?

Route drawing is a Pro feature. On the trip map, activate draw mode from the toolbar and click points on the map to trace your desired route. The route will snap to roads automatically. You can combine drawn segments with AI-generated routes for full flexibility.

What map data do you use?

We combine data from several sources:

  • Azure Maps — routing, geocoding, traffic, and weather
  • Google Places — photos, ratings, and business details
  • OpenStreetMap / Overpass API — road data and points of interest
  • MapLibre — map rendering
Can I use it on my phone?

Make My Drive Fun is a web app that works in any modern mobile browser. The interface is fully responsive — you can plan, view, and share trips on your phone just like you would on a desktop. There is no native app at this time.

How do I delete my account/data?

You have two options for managing your data:

  • Delete trip data — send a DELETE request to /api/user/delete while signed in. This permanently removes all your trips, preferences, collaborator records, and usage data from our database.
  • Delete your account — to fully delete your account (including authentication credentials), use your Clerk account settings. This will also trigger deletion of all associated app data.

You can also export your data before deleting — see the privacy question below.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings (managed by Clerk/Stripe). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro features until then. No partial refunds are issued automatically, but reach out to us if you have concerns.

Is my data private?

Yes. We take privacy seriously. We only collect the data necessary to provide the service. We use Plausible Analytics (cookie-free, privacy-friendly) for aggregate usage metrics. Your trip data is stored in Supabase and is only accessible to you (and any collaborators you invite).

You can export all your trip data at any time by visiting /api/user/export while signed in. The response is a JSON file containing all your trips. This supports your right to data portability under GDPR and similar regulations.

Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

How accurate are the stop suggestions?

Stop suggestions are generated by AI using real data from Google Places, OpenStreetMap, and Azure Maps. Ratings, photos, and locations are generally accurate, but business hours and availability can change without notice. We recommend verifying details before visiting, especially for smaller or seasonal establishments.

What if a suggested place is closed?

The AI checks opening hours when data is available, but real-world closures (holidays, renovations, permanent closures) may not be reflected immediately. If you find a closed or inaccurate listing, you can remove the stop from your trip and ask the AI to suggest an alternative. You can also report the issue so we can improve future suggestions.

How do I report a bug?

Email us at hello@skieart.com with a description of what happened, what you expected, and (if possible) a screenshot. Include the trip URL if the issue is trip-specific. We read every report.
